TAPIOCA
Starch/ Tapioca
—The Worldwide production of starch is 200 million tonnes per year (FAO). There is a forecast of starch shortage of starch by 2020. Starch accounts for —50% of worlds average daily calorie intake.
Starch Production Equipment
We see good opportunities to develop the agro-industry through joint partnership, share of know-how, funding and experience. In this respect we have a cooperate agreement with Nivoba B.V., who has been manufacturing equipment for the production of a starch for over 100 years.
Adjacent to the production plant for starch, QuinTapioca NV will install its own bio-energy plant for the production of electric power and heat for the starch plant. Residual material from the production of starch will be used for the production of bio-energy. This makes the plant entirely independent from the supply of energy from third parties. As this power plant will produce a surplus of energy needed for the starch plant, energy may be supplied to homes in the region.
Using residues from the production of starch for the production of energy, the starch plant will not produce waste.
